RIL becomes 6th largest energy company
Reliance Industries surpassed BP Plc to become the world’s sixth-largest energy company in terms of market capitalisation. The company’s stocks rose 6% after the group’s telecom arm, Reliance Jio Infocomm, announced that it will increase call and data charges.
At the same time, beating Jack Ma, Alibaba founder & RIL chairman Mukesh Ambani, with a net worth of $58 billion, remains the richest Asian and the 12th richest person in the world.
