More Attaches to boost defence exports

India is planning to have 10 additional defence attaches in 10 countries to promote its defence exports and expand its diplomacy. This was announced by Hon’ble Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh on Monday. He emphasised that India’s defence cooperation cannot be restricted to a few countries and announced the creation of 1o new defence wings to appoint 10 defence attaches. “This will
further strengthen India’s defence diplomacy,” he said, addressing the third Defence Attaches conference in New Delhi.  He also said that the DAs should utilise a new fund to promote defence exports. Under a new scheme, the government has allocated funds for promotion of defence exports to 34 countries through DAs.
