India-US discuss issues at G20

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi held talks with US President Donald Trump ahead of the G-20 Summit. Discussions took place on various bilateral and global issues such as Iran, 5G communication networks, trade and defence. The meeting is significant as the US president has been an ardent critic of India lately for levying “tremendously high” duties on US products.

Mr. Trump tweeted ahead of the meeting, “I look forward to speaking with Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi about the fact that India, for years having put very high tariffs against the United States, just recently increased the tariffs even further. This is unacceptable and the tariffs must be withdrawn!”
