45% slip in India Inc’s M&A deal value

The recent findings of Grant Thornton’s latest M&A Dealtracker revealed that there were 28 M&A deals worth US$ 1.5 billion in October this year, registering a 45% year-on-year dip. In the same period last year, 47 such deals were announced worth US$ 2.8 billion. On the brighter side, though, there was an increase from the last month. “This was driven by the corporate tax cut, which has improved both investor sentiment and confidence. This also resulted in the average deal size more than doubling from US$ 24 million in September 2019 to US$ 55 million in October 2019,” the report stated.
