Rajasthan welcomes Karnataka food tech firms to partner with agri industry

August 14, 2016

The Rajasthan government is in Karnataka to attract agro sector investments from prospective companies and initiate collaborative efforts to maximize the spurt in rural economic development.

The effort is a pre-cursor to the Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM) 2016, to be held in Jaipur between November 9 and 11, 2016.

Rajasthan will showcase investment opportunities in the sector involving products like pressure irrigation, solar pumps, custom hiring of farm machinery and implements, farm mechanisation, agro-processing, etc.
“The international event – with representations from such countries as the Netherlands, Israel, Australia and Canada – will be attended by over 50,000 farmers,” said Prabhu Lal Saini, Rajasthan’s agriculture minister.

It will provide a common platform for those involved in the total value chain of the agricultural ecosystem – farmers, academicians, scientists, technologists, agri-business companies and policy makers.
