Commerce Secretary to Inaugurate IndusFood 2020
– Global buyers to source their F&B requirements from India at Indusfood – the World Supermarket
– IndusFood 2020 to host two new shows under its umbrella – IndusFood- Tech & IndusFood – Chem
New Delhi, 31st December, 2019: World’s largest Indian food & beverage sourcing show- IndusFood 2020, will be inaugurated by the Commerce Secretary, GOI, Dr. Anup Wadhawan, IAS, on 8th January 2020 at India Exposition Mart Ltd, Gautam Budh Nagar, Greater Noida. The show will be hosting world class buyers from 80 plus countries. The three day event (8th – 10th January 2020) with two concomitant shows- IndusFood Chem and IndusFood Tech 2020 will make IndusFood 2020 bigger and grander this year.
Speaking on the IndusFood 2020, Chairman TPCI, Mohit Singla said, “The show has grown to 700 suppliers in the 3rd edition, having 100% growth yoy, with 1300 hosted buyers. The world comes to India during IndusFood- Global top sourcing giants of F&B industry such as- Walmart, LULU, Carrefour, Lotte Plaza Market, Nesto, Quality Natural Food Canada Inc to Mustafa and many more. Top buying houses, manufacturers of processed food as well as supermarket chains from across the globe are gearing up to source their F&B requirements from India through their participation as visitor buyers in IndusFood 2020.”
Further Chairman TPCI said, “Our agri production share in global perspective be it- vegetables, milk, spices, grains, etc. – ranges from 30% up to 75%, in the global production, that significance of India in global food chain was not represented in terms of product and market. We wanted to establish India’s prominence in terms of setting up a global market place within the country and thus IndusFood was born.” It is also the step in establishing the last mile connectivity to boost farm & agri income by linking it with global buyers, he added.
“We are extremely happy with the launch of Tech & Chem verticals and very excited to see the global tech suppliers from India and world, contributing into the latest in machinery to the evolving manufacturing ecosystem in India. We can change the landscape of Indian food processing sector by integrating ultra-modern food processing technologies with applications based on big data computing, blockchain technologies, IOT & machine AI along with large scale virtual process management, which is extremely crucial for our country to manage post-harvest losses, Singla added.”
IndusFood 2020, in the sidelines, will witness 25 bilateral and multilateral meeting engaging 1000 participants. The business delegations from Denmark, China, Turkey, Korea, Afghanistan, etc. will also participate in IndusFood 2020.
This export focused annual F&B trade fair organized by Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI) jointly with Department of Commerce (Ministry of Commerce and Industry) – which is already being promoted as the World Supermarket in global F&B trade circles. The second edition of IndusFood saw on spot business deals worth USD 1.2 billion.
