Sept WPI eases to 0.33%

India’s wholesale inflation touched 0.33%, the lowest figure registered in more than three years when it was pegged at 0.1% in June’16. This has been attributed to the lower inflation in fuel and manufactured goods. It was 1.03% in August and 5.22% in September 2018, according to the data released by the Commerce and Industry Ministry. Inflation for manufactured items stood at -0.42% in September, against 0% a month ago. The findings also suggested that the overall food inflation was 7.47% in September from 7.67% in August as inflation rate for fruit dropped sharply to 6.67%.
