The Trade Promotion Council of India launched the inaugural edition of Indusfood Asia at Food & Hotel Asia 2026, marking a significant step in expanding India’s food and beverage trade presence across ASEAN and global markets.

The Trade Promotion Council of India, with the support of the Department of Commerce, Government of India, successfully launched the inaugural edition of Indusfood Asia during Food & Hotel Asia 2026, held from 21–24 April 2026 at the Singapore Expo. The initiative marked a significant milestone in India’s efforts to strengthen its food and beverage trade engagement with Asia and deepen its presence in global food supply chains.

The inaugural edition of Indusfood Asia was formally inaugurated by Dr. Shilpak Ambule, High Commissioner of India to Singapore, in the presence of senior government officials, industry leaders, and Indian exporters. Among the dignitaries present were Dr. Sudhanshu and Sandip Das.

Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Shilpak Ambule highlighted India’s growing importance in the global food ecosystem and underscored the country’s ability to meet both food security requirements and evolving consumer preferences in international markets such as Singapore. He noted that India is well-positioned to emerge as a strategic supplier of high-quality agricultural and food products for premium and cosmopolitan markets across Asia.

The event brought together more than 100 Indian companies representing a wide spectrum of the food and beverage industry. Exhibitors showcased an extensive portfolio of products including rice, processed foods, tea, coffee, spices, sauces, savouries, ethnic foods, value-added food products, wines and spirits, and several GI-tagged products such as Makhana and Kala Namak rice. The participation reflected the diversity, innovation, and export potential of India’s rapidly evolving food processing and agri-export ecosystem.

Food & Hotel Asia 2026 is recognised as one of Asia’s largest and most influential food and hospitality trade exhibitions, bringing together global stakeholders from across the foodservice, hospitality, retail, and food manufacturing industries. The 2026 edition featured over 2,750 exhibitors from more than 60 countries and attracted upwards of 80,000 trade visitors and buyers from across Asia and international markets.

The launch of Indusfood Asia in Singapore represents a strategic expansion of the Indusfood brand into global markets. By partnering with FHA Singapore, TPCI aims to create stronger international market access opportunities for Indian exporters while positioning India as a reliable contributor to global food security through sustainable and innovative food solutions.

The event also received extensive support from the Department of Commerce and key export promotion and commodity bodies including Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority, Marine Products Export Development Authority, Spices Board, Coffee Board of India, Tea Board India, and the National Turmeric Board. Their participation, along with that of member exporters and industry representatives, reinforced the collaborative national effort to enhance India’s food exports and strengthen international trade linkages.

Commenting on the successful launch, Mohit Singla, Chairman of TPCI, stated that the first edition of Indusfood Asia marks the beginning of a major global expansion for the Indusfood platform. He noted that Singapore serves as one of Asia’s most strategic food import and distribution hubs and provides Indian exporters with access to the wider ASEAN and Asia-Pacific markets. He further highlighted that many international food distributors, retail procurement teams, and HoReCa sourcing offices operate from Singapore, making it an important gateway for businesses seeking regional expansion opportunities.

With Asia’s food and beverage market projected to exceed US$ 3.3 trillion by 2034 and the hospitality sector expected to witness significant growth in the coming years, Indusfood Asia aims to become a key platform connecting Indian exporters with global buyers, distributors, and industry leaders. The successful launch of the event reflects TPCI’s continued commitment to creating world-class trade platforms that strengthen India’s export ecosystem and expand the global footprint of Indian food and beverage brands.
