The Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI), with the support of the Embassy of India in Caracas, successfully organized the India-LAC Buyer-Seller Meet (BSM) focused on the pharmaceutical sector in Caracas, Venezuela, on July 17, 2025. The event aimed to promote stronger bilateral trade ties between India and Latin American countries, particularly in the high-potential pharmaceutical segment.
The Buyer-Seller Meet was jointly inaugurated by Mr. K. Madhusudhana Rao, Chargé d’Affaires, Embassy of India, Caracas; Mr. Ruchir Gupta, Managing Director, AXA Parenterals Ltd.; Dr. K. Rajasekar, President of Gufic Biosciences Ltd.; and Mr. Suresh Kumar, representative from TPCI. The dignitaries highlighted India’s emergence as a trusted and affordable supplier of high-quality pharmaceutical products globally and emphasized the scope for deeper collaboration in the healthcare domain with Venezuela and the broader LAC region.
A total of 14 leading Indian pharmaceutical companies participated in the event, showcasing a wide portfolio of generic formulations, injectables, APIs, and healthcare solutions. The meet witnessed an enthusiastic response from the Venezuelan side, with around 40 buyers and importers actively engaging in one-on-one business meetings to explore trade opportunities, partnerships, and sourcing solutions.
The event served as an ideal platform to connect Indian exporters with Venezuelan stakeholders and address the country’s growing demand for quality, cost-effective medicines. With India being the largest provider of generic drugs globally and Venezuela focusing on strengthening its healthcare sector, the BSM offered timely synergies to support mutual goals.
