With the assistance of the Indian High Commission in Australia, the Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI) is organising a Food and Beverage Industry delegation to Australia for 25 Indian companies in an effort to significantly advance and expand the Indian F&B Industry. This delegation’s main priorities are B2B meetings (with pertinent importers, wholesalers, medium- and large-scale purchasers, Chambers of Commerce, etc.) and B2G talks (with provincial governments & regulators).
India’s F&B exports to the Oceania region stood at US$ 528.2 million in 2023, accounting for 2.4% of Oceania’s total imports of US$ 21.8 billion. Australia is the largest market in the region, where India exported F&B products worth US$ 412.3 million in 2023, which accounts for 2.7% of Australia’s total F&B imports of US$ 15.2 billion.
While India currently has a relatively small share of imports in the Oceania region, there is significant headroom for growth. The India-Australia CEPA has provided a strong thrust to bilateral business ties, which is also evident from the growth trends in raw as well as processed food products.
India’s F&B exports to Australia have grown at a 5-year CAGR of 10.4%, led by cereals & cereal preparations, coffee, tea, spices, miscellaneous edible preparations, fruits and vegetables, organic and health food, non-alcoholic beverages, wine & spirits.
The India Oceania Buyer Seller Meet, organized by TPCI on August 27 and 29 in Sydney and Melbourne, will enable Indian exporters to directly connect with Australian importers, distributors, and retailers, offering them vital avenues to expand their market presence.
Prominent Indian F&B sub-segments being featured at this event include Ethnic & Snacks, Ready to Eat/Cook, Organic Food & Cereals, Tea, Coffee, Sweets, Bakery & Confectionery, Spices, Rice, Fruits & Vegetables, Vegan Food, Wine & Spirits, etc.
TPCI invites interested F&B exporters to be a part of the Indian delegation to Australia for this BSM and benefit from a highly lucrative opportunity to grow their business in the Oceania region.
