The Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI), with the support of the Embassy of India in Cairo, successfully hosted the Egypt-India Buyers-Sellers Meet (BSM) on Food & Beverage (F&B) and F&B Technology in Cairo, Egypt. The event, held as part of TPCI’s ongoing efforts to expand India’s footprint in key global markets, brought together 20 leading Indian companies and more than 100 prominent Egyptian importers and buyers under one roof.
The BSM created a vibrant platform for stakeholders from both nations to explore trade partnerships, engage in productive B2B interactions, and identify potential synergies across a wide range of F&B categories—ranging from processed foods, spices, and beverages to advanced food processing and packaging technologies.
The event was graced by the presence of His Excellency Mr. Suresh K. Reddy, Ambassador of India to Egypt, who lauded the initiative and emphasized the growing potential for India-Egypt collaboration in the agri-food and technology sectors. He highlighted how such initiatives further strengthen the bilateral trade ties between the two countries, while fostering innovation, technology transfer, and shared food security goals.
India, being one of the world’s largest producers and exporters of food products, offers diverse, high-quality, and competitively priced goods. Egyptian importers showed keen interest in exploring Indian offerings, particularly in light of Egypt’s rising demand for processed and packaged foods, driven by changing consumption patterns and urbanization. The event also saw strong interest in India’s affordable and sustainable F&B tech solutions—an important consideration for Egypt’s growing food processing industry.
