Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming two-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will prioritize bolstering cooperation in key areas such as energy, ports, fintech, digital infrastructure, railways, and investment flows. The discussions between Modi and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan are likely to result in the signing of multiple agreements aimed at fortifying collaboration in these significant sectors.
Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra, during a press conference, highlighted that discussions between the two sides aim to solidify agreements in various sectors, including ports, logistics, energy security, energy trade, and the digital domain.
He emphasized the exploration of potential understandings regarding investments in digital infrastructure, as well as arrangements to safeguard and enhance capital flows. Additionally, Kwatra mentioned the possibility of reaching agreements for cooperation in the realms of ports and maritime activities.
“Since the digital cooperation between our two economies is an important element of the partnership, we are also looking to see if we can arrive at an understanding on investments in the field of digital infrastructure,” he said
Kwatra further elaborated that both sides are exploring potential collaboration in maritime heritage, fintech products, and railways. He mentioned that ongoing discussions are focused on various agreements that may be concluded during the visit.
