US & India collaborate for growth

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo commented that the US is “working hard” with the Government of India to provide the country with opportunities to grow as a part  of their (US) Indo-Pacific strategy. While speaking to reporters accompanying him on a visit to the Indo-Pacific region, Pompeo said, “Our Indo-Pacific strategy is well on its way to bearing fruit for not only them but for the United States, and we have watched these coalitions build out. We’re working hard with the Indian government to provide them with opportunities to grow their economy as well.”

A few days ago, India’s Ambassador to the US Harsh Vardhan Shringla observed that bilateral trade has grown to US$ 142 billion in 2018, and is expected to reach US$ 238 billion by 2025. He also asserted that the next wave of growth is expected to be driven by SMEs in both countries in the coming years.
