India still in Corona stage 2: Govt

Despite the number of Covid-19 cases jumping to 606 on Wednesday, with 10 reported deaths, the Center has observed that there is no proof of community transmission (or stage 3) so far in India. Based on an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) study of 2,000 samples collected randomly, Joint Secretary (health) Lav Agarwal told reporters “There is no proof of community transmission as of today (Wednesday).”
However, he sounded a note of caution amid the rising  number of Covid-19 cases, “We are seeing an increasing trend. Our action has always been pre-emptive. Seeing this trend, our action is also increasing. Hopefully, we will be able to arrest this trend with lockdown”. He also assured that there is no shortage of PPEs or N-95 masks.

In their meeting with union Health Minister Shri Harsh Vardhan , a group of ministers (GoM) discussed creating dedicated Covid-19 hospitals, equipping the medical institutes with personal protective equipment (PPE), ventilators and other essential equipment. The GoM also notified Vardhan that Gujarat, Assam, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Goa, Karnataka, MP and Jammu and Kashmir are setting up hospitals dedicated for the management of this pandemic.
