Govt cautious about FTAs
Union Minister Shri Piyush Goyal opined that the government’s decision to stay out of the RCEP was a bold one and that it was in the national interest because clearly, the pact had become an India-China FTA. Addressing CII, the minister also opined that India will not sign any free trade agreement in a hurry or to the industry’s disadvantage. “I can assure all of you that going forward, none of the FTAs will be settled in a hurry or will be settled to the disadvantage of Indian industry and exporters”, he added.
