CIM calls meeting to discuss trade avenues with US, China

Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry, has called a meeting of exporters and officials on July 31 to discuss ways to increase exports to US and China, in context of the ongoing trade war between the two countries. The meeting will focus on the high potential products earmarked by the Department for export enhancement to these markets. The CIM will discuss the potential as well as roadblocks being faced by the industry such as cost of compliance, currency movements, high cost of credit, infrastructure, challenges in integrating with the value chain, etc. In a study completed recently, the Department identified 203 products where exports could be increased to US and 151 potential products for export enhancement to China.
