70% dip in fruit & veggie exports during lockdown

According to exporters and government officials, there has been a 70% dip in India’s fruit & veggie exports ever since the lockdown commenced due to the high freight charges by airlines. Freight charges by airlines rose as much as 166% to Rs. 250 a kg. While last year, the average export was 4 lakh tonne a month during March-May, now only 30% of that is happening, as per an APEDA official.
