51% rise in receiving Canada’s green card

The number of Indian citizens awarded Canadian permanent residency in 2018 has increased by 51% from 2017 according to recently released statistics. While in 2017, Canada had admitted nearly 26,300 people from India under the express entry route, in 2018, it awarded PR to 39,677 Indians. Norwegian region & China occupied the second & third positions respectively in this regard. Given the challenges that Indian immigrants face in the US such as denials of H-1B visa extensions, green-card backlogs, or even the proposed plan to revoke the right of H-1B spouses to work, Canada is emerging as a preferred destination for visa holders.
