Tea Export from India Surges in FY 2015-16.

Tea exports from India have noticed a northwards growth during this year as compared to the previous year. According to the Tea Board of India, India exported around 220.8 Million Kgs of Tea during FY 2015-16, around 10.9% higher as compared to the exports of previous season which was 199.08 Million Kgs.  In Value terms, it was Rs 4200.46 Crore, this year, around 9.8% higher as compared to the previous year’s value of Rs 3823.64 Crore.

Quarterly exports have remained firm. The total quantity of Tea exported from India, during January 2016 to March 2016 was 54.29 Million Kgs. Around 6.2% higher as compared to the exports during the same period previous year. In value terms, it was Rs 982.39 Crore during January 2016 to March 2016, around 13.2% higher as compared to Rs 867.86 Crore during the same period previous year.
