Shree Cement to set up Rs 600 crore cement plant in Jharkhand

July 23, 2016

Shree Cement, mid-sized cement manufacturer with operations in multiple states, has signed MOU with the Jharkhand government to set up a two-million tons grinding unit in Seraikela Kharsawan district involving an investment of Rs 600 crore.

The announcement comes on the back of a road show organized by the Jharkhand government in Hyderabad to attract investors.

The Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das met senior executives from Infosys and other investors inviting them to support Start-up Jharkhand initiative. Das also met officials from Britannia and invited them to invest in Jharkhand.

The state government has also signed an MoU with technology giant Oracle for imparting IT skill training to students of engineering colleges, polytechnics and degree-level institutions. The government, on the other hand, will assist the institutes to develop and maintain the requisite infrastructure under the guidance of Oracle.

Chief Minister Raghubar Das, who was in Hyderabad on Wednesday to promote Jharkhand Global Investors Summit 2017, said, “We are giving all possible support to the investors by giving land and other clearances within 15 days and ensuring their security.”

The Chief Minister added that he wants the small and medium enterprises sector to flourish that will create thousands of new jobs rather than just focus on the large investments by few players.
