Increased input costs bite into biscuits manufactures profits: TPCI

The increase in commodity prices like wheat flour, coupled with rising refined palm oil, is eating into the margins of biscuit manufacturers in India, Trade Promotion Council of India said on Friday. Speaking on the hike in input cost of raw material for the bakery industry, TPCI Chairman Mohit Singla said, ‘The Indian biscuits manufacture is going through turmoil and disruption on account of the increased input cost to the tune of 35 per cent to 40 per cent, in the recent past.
