Round table seminar on Export of Indian Films
Trade Promotion Council of India in association with the economic division of Ministry of External Affairs successfully organized a round table seminar on Export of Indian Cinema and Audio-visual Services to CIS and other countries on March 25, 2019 at Videsh Bhawan, Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mumbai.
The seminar was chaired by Shri Manoj K. Bharti, Add. Secretary (ED & States), Ministry of External Affairs, supported by Miss Sangeeta Saxena, Director, Department of Commerce and Mr Mohit Singla, Chairman, TPCI. More than 30 prominent distributors, producers, and directors from the film fraternity attended the seminar. The participants broadly deliberated upon the avenues and hurdles experienced by the industry for exporting of films to CIS and other countries.
All the participants appreciated the initiative taken by the TPCI and the Ministry of External Affairs for promoting exports of films and expressed their gratitude for organising this kind of seminar for the first time for the film Industry. The film fraternity shown their interest in following up on the matter, and agreed to meet again in New Delhi shortly with a consolidated proposal prepared by a core committee.
