Seven states to receive PM MITRA mega textile parks

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that PM MITRA mega textile parks would be built in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has annunced establishment of “PM MITRA mega textile parks” in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh. The said mega textile parks are expected to generate thousands of jobs and attract significant investment.

In accordance with the 5F vision i.e., farm to fibre to factory to fashion to foreign, PM MITRA giant textile parks will strengthen the industry. Along with humungous employment opportunities, these textile parks will bring in cutting-edge infrastructure, and attract millions of dollars in investment. It will serve as a fantastic illustration of “Made in India” and “Make for the World.

With an agreed financial outlay of INR 10,683 crores, the government has started the initiative for the textile industry in order for textiles to grow in size and scale and become competitive. Between January 1 and February 28, 2022, applications for the PLI scheme for textiles were accepted through the Ministry of Textile portal. A selection committee led by Secretary (Textiles) has chosen 64 candidates out of a total of 67 applications.
