Remote working continues in the nation

Despite the COVID situation being under control in the country, over 50% companies in India are continuing with remote working options for employees, a recent survey conducted by CIEL HR has found. About 10% companies are even hiring for permanent work-from-home roles. The flexible working model is likely to persist in the foreseeable future.

“While there is no change in salaries of existing workforce working in remote roles, those being hired for remote roles on a permanent basis are getting 15% lower salaries,” commented Aditya Mishra, chief executive of CIEL HR Services. “We are considering remote roles in a limited manner as we aim to stay agile and adopt practices and policies that best serve both our business and colleagues,” stated Shilpa Vaid, head, HR at Mondelez India. The report is based on a survey of about 600 companies across domains like IT, ITeS, ecommerce, BFSI, recruitment, consulting, and edtech with the help of close to 1,000 respondents.
