ONDC advisory council meeting held

On Thursday, the advisory council meeting of the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) was held.  ONDC seeks to promote open networks for all aspects of exchange of goods and services over electronic networks. The committee was chaired by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal. It discussed plans for faster rollout of the platform to a larger number of traders, categories of goods, geographies and companies.

The pilot phase is being carried out in five designated cities- Bengaluru, New Delhi, Bhopal, Shillong and Coimbatore. The following categories have been selected for this: grocery and food and beverages segments, as per information provided in the advisory council meeting. It must closely work with various industry associations to bring faster adoption to ONDC.
