India becomes 2nd largest trade partner of Dubai

According to official statistics, during H1 2021, India has emerged as Dubai’s second largest trading partner  with the trade touching US$ 18.3 billion. According to the statement released by Dubai government, country’s largest trading partner during H1 2021 is China, followed by India and then US. Trade with India during the period has grown by 74.5% year-over-year during H1 2021. Dubai’s trade with China grew by 30.7% yoy  with total trade standing at US$ 23.6 billion during H1 2021.

Total trade of Dubai with top five trading partners during H1 2021 stood at  US$ 65.7 billion, up by 30.34% yoy. India’s top exported items to UAE have been light oils and preparations, articles of other precious metals, telephones for wireless networks, other petroleum oils and obtained from bituminous minerals. India’s top importing items from UAE are petroleum oils and obtained from bituminous minerals, non industrial diamonds, liquified butanes and liquified natural gas.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, said, “Dubai’s existing sea and air network will be expanded to cover 200 new cities around the world. We are confident that we will continue to build on our growth momentum to achieve our ambitious sustainable development projects and plans.”
