25% rise in passenger vehicle sales in June

Manufacturers of passenger vehicles are set to report one of their highest-ever monthly sales in the domestic market this month, with client demand staying strong and easing in components scarcity that disrupted output through the greater part of the past year.

Around 321,000-325,000 passenger vehicles are expected to be dispatched from factories in June- a rise of 25% when compared with 255,743 units sold in the same period last year. Passenger automobiles, sedans, and utility autos sales registered report volumes of 334,311 items in October 2020, and thereafter of 321,794 items in March 2022.

Shashank Srivastava, senior executive director (marketing and sales), Maruti Suzuki, stated that automakers in India report wholesale dispatches from factories and not retail sales to customers. “Demand parameters as reflected in enquiries and bookings remain stable at a healthy level”, he said.
