DESCRIPTION:You are cordially invited to a webinar on India-UAE: Trade & investment opportunities in agri and food processing being organised by Trade Promotion Council of India in association with Consulate General of India (CGI) Dubai. The webinar is scheduled on August 29\, 2021 at 10:30 am UAE Time\, 12:00 Noon IST. \nIndia and UAE have shared trade links that span across centuries\, and continue \ to maintain strong bilateral trade relations. UAE was India’s third largest export destination in 2020-21\, with exports from India at US$ 16.7 billion and imports at US$ 26.6 billion. \nExports from India to UAE are well diversified\, including Petroleum Products\, Precious Metals\, Stones\, Gems & Jewellery\, Minerals\, Food Items (Cereals\, Sugar\, Fruits & Vegetables\, Tea\, Meat\, and Seafood)\, Textiles (Garments\, Apparel\, Synthetic fibre\, Cotton\, Yarn) and Engineering & Machinery Products and Chemicals. \nUAE is also the 10th largest FDI investor in India\, with investments amounting to US$ 13-14 billion. Its major investment focus has been in services (15.78%)\, sea transport (8.8%)\, power (8.34%)\, construction activities (infrastructure -7.15%) and construction development (townships\, housing\, built-up infrastructure and construction-development projects – 7.08%). \nUAE has initiated attempts for a broader India-GCC dialogue on reviving talks for their bilateral Free Trade Agreement early this year.
