Brexit causes doubt on textile chemical rules

Although Great Britain has voted to leave the European Union, uncertainty is prevailing about the environmental impact of textile production. Some of the UK based textile & clothing importers are already raising concern about whether the REACH regulations will apply to them in future or would they be watered downs soon.

Meanwhile, the UK based producers of textile chemical formulations are also of this opinion that the Brexit may actually make it easier for them to capture European market as the Britain will be treated as a ‘rest of the world’ country and REACH places the onus of compliance on the importer to register products greater than 1 ton per annum.
