Trade Promotion Council of India co-organizes India – Argentina Food & Agri BSM
Trade Promotion Council of India co-organized a Food & Agriculture BSM with Embassy of Argentina on 11th September, 2017 at Hotel Lalit, New Delhi.
India’s exports to MERCOSUR in 2015-16 was $3.4 billion, while imports stood at $6.6 billion. This is just a fraction of India’s bilateral trade with the US valued at $68.6 billion and the EU at $115 billion in the same year.
Chairman, Trade Promotion Council of India, Mohit Singla with Argentina Ambassador to India, H.E. Maria Christina Ueltschi and H.E. Jesus Silverya, Joint Secretary of Agro Industry Market, Ministry of Agriculture, Argentina spoke about further enhancing the bilateral trade relations and deeper engagement of India – MERCOSUR.
Speaking on the occasion H.E. Ms. Maria Christina Ueltschi, Argentinian Ambassador to India said that face to face meetings help in building bridges. She further added that Argentina has lot of things to learn from India.
While addressing the participants, Mr Mohit Singla, Chairman, Trade Promotion Council of India, said that he was privileged and honoured to attend the event. He thanked the Ambassador and H.E. Mr Jesus Silveyra, Joint Secretary of Agro Industry Market, Ministry of Agriculture of Argentina for organizing such a large business delegation from Argentina. He further mentioned that TPCI extended its fullest cooperation in identifying relevant Indian businessmen for BtoB meetings with the members of the visiting delegation. He wished success to the visiting delegation in BtoB meetings. He looks forward to close cooperation with the Embassy of Argentina in promoting bilateral trade relations.
H.E. Mr Jesus Silveyra, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture of Argentina highlighted the immense potential about the untapped bilateral trade between our two countries and also agreed to re-visit with a buyer delegation during the forthcoming Indus Food 2018 edition.
