TPCI holds meeting with Taiwan External Trade Development Council

On 17th May 2018, TPCI Chairman Mr. Mohit Singla accompanied by Mr. Suresh Kumar Makhijani, Joint Director General, TPCI and Mr. Ashok Sethi, Director, TPCI had a fruitful meeting with Mr. James C. F. Huang, Chairman, TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council), Mr. Michael Wang, Director of Board, New Frontier Foundation, Mr. Michael Lin, Director Taipei World Trade Centre Liaison Office in Mumbai and Mr. Kyle Chiu, special assistant to the Chairman TAITRA.

Chairman Mr. Singla informed the Taiwanese side about the allocation by the Department of Commerce, Government of India, of leading the international trade of three sectors, namely F&B, IT&Telecom and Chemicals. Mr James Huang underscored the possibilities of joint ventures in India in Telecom & IT and Food Processing, which was highly welcomed by the Chairman, TPCI and the rest of the team.

The IT initiative of Chairman, TAITRA was endorsed by Mr. Michael Wang who himself is a leading IT entrepreneur. Chairman, Mr. Singla, expressed TPCI’s willingness to participate with an Indian pavilion at Taipei International Fair and Taiwanese side assured TPCI that they would send a delegation for the second edition of INDUSFOOD (17-18 January 2019). It was a cordial meeting which ended with Chairman TAITRA’s remark for further relationship building between TAITRA’s Delhi representative and TPCI. This is definitely a positive move in the development of constructive trade relations between Taiwan and India.
