High level delegation from Vietnam meets TPCI delegation

A high level delegation from Vietnam met a TPCI delegations to discuss business opportunities and future cooperation between India and Vietnam so as to achieve the target of bilateral trade of US$15 bn by 2020 that was set during a meeting between Indian Prime Minister and Vietnamese President, when the later visited India in March this year.
Trade between the two countries has reached the figure of US$12.8 bn in 2017-18, registering an impressive increase of 26.96 % and is on path to meeting the target by 2020. Ways and means to promote Indusfood, India’s flagship F&B event promoted by Department of Commerce, Government of India and TPCI too were discussed.
The Vietnam delegation was led by Tran Thanh Nam, Deputy Minister of the Ministry and accompanied by senior government officials and Vietnamese businessmen from the agriculture sector. The new Vietnamese ambassador to India Pham Sanh Chau was also present in the meeting while the TPCI delegation was led by its Chairman, Mohit Singla and was accompanied by Suresh Kr. Makhijani (Jt. DG), Kapil Gupta (Jt. DG), Aziz Haider (Director) and Sagar Bansal (Consultant).
